During the early years of online bingo, many countries jumped in and opened their own online bingo sites. Although the game originally ‘took off’ in the United States and the UK, other countries soon followed suit and before long it was a thriving enterprise with players from virtually anywhere in the world in one game room or another at any one time. It wasn’t long however before many governments took up online gaming regulations and if there wasn’t a specific type of trade agreement with another country, those citizens were prohibited from ‘gambling’ in any games within that country. It is common, for instance, to see Canadians and US citizens playing side by side in bingo rooms online in the US, but you may not find other countries that allow US citizens to play bingo for cash.

The same holds true in the reverse. It is not often that you will see citizens from another country in one of the US bingo rooms unless they are currently in the United States. Fortunately, each site is likely to ask you where you live and if your IP address is from a foreign country that does not have a gaming agreement with the US you might be barred from playing for cash. Some sites will allow you to play the game but you wouldn’t be able to take away any cash prizes. Make sure you check out which sites you can actually win on before you actually register.
